ABOUT THE BROWN PARENT REPORT
The Brown Parent Report will be an online resource for families of color seeking information about public, private, and charter schools in the context of how they engage children of color. Through sharing candid experiences, families of color empower one another to make informed decisions about the schools they select for their children.
Our report is twenty-five (25) questions with seven (7) key sections intended to provide a comprehensive overview of the school.
School information
Overall satisfaction
School diversity
School environment/curriculum
School environment/climate
Administration, teachers, and staff
Personal story-telling
Following the school report section, we have fifteen (15) additional questions with three (3) "Parent Perspective" sections. These sections are intended to collect data on what parents of color are truly looking for from schools. This is your opportunity to join voices with other parents of color to help schools better identify the needs of families of color.
Lastly, our report closes with five (5) demographic questions. It is important that we identify differences among families of color, to better demonstrate the diversity within diversity.
We hope that you will complete the full report to tell your whole story. After you complete your report, please share this resource with ten (10) other families in your community.
The first report will be released in 2021.
